To My Mother in this Time of Need

Mother, oh sea goddess Thetis, please help me in this time of need. I would really like you to ask Zeus to help the Trojans to defeat the Greeks. I know that I one fought side-by-side with the Greeks, but Agamemnon has really angered me. Zeus has helped you in the past and I was just hoping that you would be able to convince him to help me now. I know that you would prefer if I did not fight in this war, so I am going to stay by my ships until I know that I am safe to leave.

I have not been to the council for many days and have not heard any updates on the war. Convince Zeus that I am worthy of his help. Agamemnon has disrespected me for I am a great warrior and without me, his army is nothing. I miss fighting in the war and the sounds that it brings, but I cannot stand to fight next to Agamemnon and know that you would like me here.

I heard from you mother, and you have convinced Zeus to help the Trojans defeat the Greeks. I cannot thank you enough, for this is what I have wanted. I know that it will be difficult since Hera has gained all of the other gods on her side…
